CVE-2018-1174

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on vulnerable installations of Foxit Reader 9.0.0.29935. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the handling of the bitmapDPI attribute of PrintParams objects. The issue results from the lack of proper initialization of memory prior to accessing it. An attacker can leverage this in conjunction with other vulnerabilities to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-5437.

Esta vulnerabilidad permite que atacantes remotos revelen información sensible en instalaciones vulnerables de Foxit Reader 9.0.0.29935. Se requiere de interacción del usuario para explotar esta vulnerabilidad en la que el objetivo debe visitar una página maliciosa o abrir un archivo malicioso. Este error en concreto existe en la gestión del atributo bitmapDPI de objetos PrintParams. El problema resulta de la falta de inicialización adecuada de la memoria antes de acceder a ella. Un atacante podría aprovecharse de esta vulnerabilidad y otras para ejecutar código en el contexto del actual proceso. Anteriormente era ZDI-CAN-5437.
